Nicholas Yamashita Quinata earned a B.A. in history and journalism with a minor in anthropology from the University of Oregon in 2004.
Quinata is pursuing a master’s degree in history at San Diego State University where he has also served as a teacher’s assistant in history. He is scheduled to graduate in 2008.
Before earning his degree from the University of Oregon, Quinata volunteered in the anthropology department assisting with research in the Channel Islands. He has also studied at Universidad de Guadalarjara, Mexico and Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
Quinata is a freelance writer for such Guam publications as GU magazine, Guahan Magazine, and Pacific Daily News.
